During the 1970's and early 1980's Pobjoy Mint & Pobjoy Mint Jewellery became well known in the offshore powerboating world. The Round Britain, London - Paris and Cowes - Torquay races are just some of the iconic events in which the high profile Pobjoy Class 1 boats competed and qualified.

Two McLaren turbo charged marine engines used in these competitions have since been repurposed and are displayed here at Pobjoy as a tribute to those halcyon days.
